What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary therapy, which works on the feet (or hands) to affect the whole body. By stimulating reflexes which relate to every organ and part of the body reflexology helps to heal the whole person rather than just dealing with symptoms in isolation.
Reflexology is a safe and natural therapy which involves pressure point massage to the feet (or sometimes the hands). It restores the natural flow of energy throughout the body to bring it back into a state of balance. Reflexology is a very relaxing therapy and is suitable for anyone, including men, women, children and the elderly. Each treatment will be appropriate to the individual needs of the client.
Reflexology can be used for general relaxation to bring a sense of well-being during times of stress, as well as being beneficial for a whole host of conditions.
What to expect?
At your first session I will take a detailed history before beginning to work on your feet. Anything you tell me will obviously remain strictly confidential.
You then relax on a chair or couch, remaining fully clothed (apart from your feet which need to be bare). It should not hurt at all (although a little temporary discomfort may be experienced at first) and it does not tickle! Most people find it a deeply relaxing treatment.
Please allow up to an hour and a half for your first treatment and up to an hour for subsequent visits. I do not charge extra for the time taken to conduct the history at the start of the session and to discuss your treatment plan.
Charges - £30 per session
